Using marijuana to heighten erotic experiences is something that folks love to engage in. It can be used as an aphrodisiac to create enhanced sexual desire, creativity, pleasure or behavior. But what marijuana actually does to you during sexual experiences is something that we wanted to explore!

A large, comprehensive survey conducted in the U.S. found that the more often people smoked marijuana, the more frequently they engaged in sex & moments of intimacy – and this was true for both men and women. In fact, on average, frequent marijuana users were having sex about 20% more often than those who were not. To learn more about this survey, check out this article.

Women & Marijuana

In a study of 400 adult women in the U.S. who were surveyed about marijuana use and sexual activity, researchers found that a majority of female users said that marijuana makes sex more intense and increases sexual desire. Some women, if not most, reported improvements in sexual pain & even better orgasms.

Men & Marijuana

Marijuana use in men is linked to both improved and impaired erections. The findings of the study did not have controlled dosage levels, strain types nor did it consider the individuals sensitivity to marijuana. So there are some caveats to consider. Additionally, while most men reported enhanced sexual pleasure & heightened sensations, not all experienced this.

Additional Data

  • Marijuana use lended to more sensual and erotic experiences
  • Less aggressive behavior was present when marijuana was inhaled/ingested
  • Marijuana won’t make you feel more attractive or outgoing as often as other substances like alcohol would for example

Conclusion

The overall data supports the idea that marijuana users, on average, more often report having more and better sex than people who abstain or use it pretty infrequently.
